Contract Type - Fixed Term, 6 Months - Part time (21 hours per week)
Edinburgh College of Art is recruiting a part time Finance Administrator on a 6-month fixed term contract.
This post is advertised as part-time 0.6FTE (21 hours per week), which can be worked over 3, 4 or 5 days. We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will primarily provide support and guidance on a broad range of financial procedures to academic & professional managers, staff and students within a subject area. The post holder will ensure correct processes and procedures are followed and potential improvements highlighted to line management, and maintain accurate financial records and ensure correct allocation of income/expenditure.
The post-holder will work closely with the Resources Support Manager within a small Team at Edinburgh College of Art. Your written and oral communication skills, numeracy skills and your eye for detail will be utilised on a daily basis. As will your pro-active approach to seeking out information. You will use various IT systems including excel on a daily basis.
This is a temporary post covering a secondment and is expected to be for 6 months starting in September 2023.
Your Skills and Attributes for success:
- Experience of working with financial procedures and systems in a large, complex organisation is required.
- Demonstrably high standards of customer care and the ability to co-operate and contribute as part of a team.
- Good written and oral communication skills are as important as good numeracy skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to quickly master established procedures and subsequently to provide clear guidance and instructions to colleagues
- Ability to use initiative and a pro-active approach to seeking out information.
