About the role

Working within the College of Life Sciences Finance Administration Team, you will provide comprehensive advice, support and operational assistance across the full range of financial budgetary systems, processes and procedures to meet the needs of the research departments and other areas of the College of Life Sciences.

The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities relating to the administration and monitoring of research and departmental budgets, requiring close liaison with academic staff, researchers and Operations Managers. The role will also support procurement processes relating to the spending of grants, studentships and other departmental and College accounts and will work with other members of the team to review and improve finance administration procedures on an ongoing basis.

About you

You will have substantial experience of working in a comparable role and setting and will be a competent user of relevant MS Office packages, in particular Microsoft Excel. Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of University systems including SAP processes and procedures.

A proven ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and an ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is essential. You will also have experience in assessing financial information, be able to identify issues and solve these independently using your initiative and judgement.
