The Role:

As a Finance Administrator, you’ll support the finance team in providing reports, processing invoices, checking purchase orders and general finance administration duties. At City Plumbing, we have a long history of providing our Finance Administrators with funding and incentives to complete their Finance qualifications, with countless examples of Finance Administrators progressing into more Senior roles within our Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adding Purchase Orders and ensuring they’re allocated to the correct Cost Accounts.
  • Review of relevant invoices and checking against Purchase Order spend limits.
  • Process Invoices for authorisation and payment, updating invoices processed into a local tracker to ensure duplication of payments do not occur.
  • Collect information as part of the month end process to create the relevant journals for review and subsequent posting of approved journals.
  • Help the Finance Business Partner with the preparation of review documents during the month end process.
  • Document how we are carrying out our processes to ensure that tasks are carried out when moving between systems.
  • Help the Finance Business Partner with any ad hoc queries that may come through. This could range from helping to provide data for other departments or help work on presentations for the Senior Leadership Team

This is a hybrid-based opportunity with true flexibility to work from home, but you should be within commutable distance of our newly refurbished offices in Crick, Northamptonshire

Skills and competencies

  • Good level of experience using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Superb communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Methodical and strong attention to detail.
  • Well organised with good time management.
  • IT Literate with a good understanding of Excel and Formulas
  • Understanding of Financial Reconciling would be advantageous but is not essential.

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: AAT, Finance, Administration, Accounts Payable, Accounts Assistant, Finance Graduate
