RentLocally is a highly reputable property letting company with a strong presence across Scotland. We specialise in managing the rental process for properties, connecting long-term tenants with desirable homes within the private rented property sector. Currently, we have an exciting opportunity to join our central head office team located in the vibrant city of Edinburgh.
We are looking to recruit an ambitious and reliable Finance Administrator Assistant to take responsibility for all finance duties and provide support to our Finance Administration Team & Finance Manager. The position will be based at our main Head Office, which is located next to the historic 'Swanston Village'. The office benefits from free onsite parking and easy access to Lothian Buses, including the No.27 and No.4 bus. The office is also across from the beautiful Swanston Golf Course.
The position will be permanent and an immediate start is available to the right candidate.
The Finance Team is based in Edinburgh and is the central Finance Team for 7 regional offices across Scotland. RentLocally is a franchise/partnership business and we are continually growing our business across Scotland meaning day to day responsibilities can be varied.
Our Edinburgh office consists of a close-knit team of around 20 people in a growing business. We enjoy a relaxed and friendly environment, often socialising together and hosting fun events like a summer BBQ and Christmas party.
You will be helping us shape our finance team, that means helping execute the rigorous controls and processes to set the tone for the next 3-5 years.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end debt management process, including tracking outstanding payments, initiating debt recovery actions.
- Communicate effectively with tenants regarding overdue payments, resolve queries, and maintain positive relationships.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and comply with data protection regulations.
- Process tenant payments accurately, allocate funds appropriately.
- Generate reports on debt status, analyse data to identify trends and risks, and provide insights for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to debt recovery and tenant rights.
- Collaborate landlords and business partners to address complex debt issues and prevent future delinquencies.
- Continuously improve debt management processes, leveraging technology and best practices.
- Logging deposits to MyDeposit Scotland within deadlines every month.
- Managing the the central Finance teams mailbox
- Dealing with all landlords bills (Invoices, Council Tax, Energy bill ect)
- Provide regular updates and reports on debt recovery performance to the finance manager and senior management.
- Assisting with the processing of our contractors payments.
- Support other finance-related tasks and projects as assigned by the finance manager.
Requirements:
- Higher Education. (Desired)
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Google applications.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to be a team player.
- High level of customer service.
- Knowledge of the letting sector and Scottish tenancy laws. (Desired)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Full Drivers License (Desired)
