The Department of Pathology is seeking to appoint a Finance / Accounts Assistant to join our large and friendly professional services team.

Working within our Accounts Team, this is a great opportunity to develop skills and gain exposure to all the diverse aspects of a busy department. There are training opportunities to support career development.

The post holder will undertake a full range of accounts duties including;

  • Processing supplier invoices

  • Reviewing and investigating open purchase orders and close or cancel as required

  • Raising customer invoices and credit notes

  • Running and reviewing UFS reports and export data into excel

  • Recharging departmental facilities to end users both internal and external to the department on a monthly or quarterly basis.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for financial matters, liaising with departmental staff and give advice and guidance regarding financial procedures records. Other duties and responsibilities are outlined in the Further Particulars document.

Applicants are expected to be educated to A level standard / NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of practical experience. You must also have good IT skills, particularly MS Excel. Experience of working in an accounts environment essential.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
