Who are Ombudsman Services?
Ombudsman Services provides impartial dispute resolution to consumers and small businesses who haven’t been able to resolve their complaints directly with energy suppliers, communication providers or parking operators.
Our teams help to resolve over 150,000 complaints and appeals each year all at no cost to consumers and this number continues to grow as we work with new suppliers and providers.
As well as providing dispute resolution, we are also committed to helping businesses to improve their service and customer experience by sharing insights and working together to address industry-wide issues.

What will I be doing as a Finance Accounts Assistant?
The Finance Accounts Assistant is a key member of the operational Finance function. You will be responsible for assisting the Finance department in daily administration and transactional activities alongside a host of general finance duties on a recurring cycle. These activities include:
- Daily and monthly bank reconciliation.
- Processing Expenses, bank payments, credit cards, petty cash.
- Sales Invoicing and Credit Control.
- Purchase Ledger including payment processing, setting up new suppliers and maintenance of travel portal.
- Creating purchase requisitions and purchase orders as requested by colleagues.
- Coding, inputting, and processing of invoices ensuring timely and accurate payment
- Payroll and general administration support, including managing the accounts email inbox
- Involvement in the year-end audit process, reporting and provision of information.
- Preparing payment runs according to company standards in line with internal controls.
- Supplier statement reconciliations.
- Assisting in the maintenance of the finance system, with integrity of information input.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Resolve routine supplier and customer queries.
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a similar role and hold a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C/5 or above including Maths and English. If you have AAT qualification, that would be an advantage in this role, but it is not essential

You'll be working with a variety of stakeholders so it's important you are a great communicator and enjoy working as part of our small team as well as building strong working relationships colleagues across our business.
You will be accountable for your own work and enjoy working to deadlines. The ideal candidate will having excellent numerical and analytical skills and demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office including having intermediate Excel skills, including V Lookups and pivot tables.
You will also have previous experience of working on accounting systems such as Sage Intacct which we currently use.
This role requires someone who has a strong attend to detail focus, but also have a flexible and positive attitude

The salary range for this role is £25k- £27k per annum which is dependent on your skills, knowledge, and experience
Hybrid Working. Our teams come into the office for 3 days per week with the other 2/3 days working from home
