Techtronic Industries (TTI) is a world-class leader in design, manufacturing and marketing of Power Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, and Floor Care and Appliances for consumers, professional and industrial users in the home improvement, repair and construction industries.
As EMEA Financial Accountant, you will participate as a key member of the EMEA Finance team. This role will undertake general accounting duties as required supporting the efficient operation of the finance function. This is expected to be a varied role which will involve all areas during a busy time for the Finance team from the preparation of the month end reports to ad hoc analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):
- Preparation of accounting entries for the principal holding company for the EMEA region
- Intercompany and recharge accounting and monthly confirmation of balances with each intercompany partner
- Preparing FX translation proofs monthly
- Preparing detailed Balance sheet reconciliations to a Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) standard
- Submission of monthly results (Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and key footnotes) using Hyperion/smart view processes to report into the Central Consolidation team
- Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts providing commentary on variances of both to actuals monthly
- Forecasting to the EMEA Treasury Manager
- Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP (compliant with FRS 102 framework)
- Supporting the Financial Controller in year-end external audit reviews
- Processing quarterly VAT returns under Making Tax Digital conditions/rules
- Providing certain Office for National Statistics (“ONS”) filings
- Supporting the Financial Controller in ad hoc projects and process improvements as required
Profile and Skills required:
- A recently qualified ACCA/ACA or finalist (2 exams remaining)
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to cope under pressure, deadline driven and capable of multi-tasking
- Preferable experience of working in an EMEA multi-currency environment
- Prior knowledge of Hyperion and SAP helpful but not essential
- Highly competent with Microsoft Office packages in particular Microsoft Excel and Word
