We’re hiring! Film Production Trainee Scheme with Inside Job Productions & Rethink Mental Illness
Are you passionate about the world of film and social media? Are you keen to use your skills to support other young people living with mental health problems? If so, this exciting new trainee scheme where you will learn about all aspects of shooting and editing films within a dynamic and creative team, could be for you.
We are looking for a Production Trainee for a role with us for six months to learn and gain experience of all aspects of the production process of creating short form videos for Rethink Mental Illness’s new TikTok channel which will raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing amongst an audience of young people across the country.
Inside Job Productions and Rethink Mental Illness aim to help people living with mental health problems, therefore we welcome applications from those of you who have had experience of poor mental health.

Rethink Mental Illness is a leading national charity which seeks to improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness through our network of local groups and services, expert information and successful campaigning. You will have the opportunity to be involved in:
- Filming, directing, and editing exciting and compelling content aimed at an audience of
18-30 year olds.
- Contributing to the development of a social media mental health campaign.
- Being a part of the launch of a new Tik Tok channel for a leading national mental health charity.
- Working closely with and learning from experienced media and marketing professionals.
- Developing new skills in video interviewing
- Attend and participate creatively in video shoots for longer-form content.
- Receiving support to help you grow both personally and professionally.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about film and media production. You don’t need any specific qualifications or industry experience, you just need to be creative, enthusiastic, and keen to learn.
We’d like you to be comfortable in front of and behind the camera. You’ll have an interest in emerging trends in social media content and experience of creating and editing content natively in Tik Tok, Instagram and YouTube shorts, even if it’s just on your own account.
You’ll be aware of mental health topics that are important to 18 – 30 year olds. You will also be a creative thinker who has unique ideas for video content that will help raise awareness about mental health and wellbeing issues.

As well as creating amazing content that spreads the message about good mental health far and wide, you will gain an insight into the world of film production and social media, learn about the variety of roles that it offers and the pathways that lead to these, to help you in your future career.
The details:
This role is offered on a part time basis – 2 days per week (to be discussed).
Hours of work: 09:30 – 17:30 (with one hour for lunch).
Pay: London Living Wage (currently £11.95 per hour).
