We’re looking for a Trainee Field Technician to join our Utilities, Anglian Water Alliance team. Within this role, we will provide you with all the training and tools to help you launch your new career.
Kier Utilities brings the built environment to life, keeping people and businesses connected. In this role, you will be working on our Anglian Water Alliance team contract, where we work on maintaining, repairing, and upgrading the water network.
As a Trainee Field Technician, you will be an essential part of the Anglian Water Alliance team, providing them with direct support. Your key responsibilities will involve deploying advanced water-leakage equipment, specifically designed to listen for leakage noises originating from underground pipes. In addition to these technical tasks, you will have regular interactions with customers, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns they may have on a daily basis.
With experience and provided training, you have the potential to progress to the role of Leakage Technician, where you can take on greater responsibilities and further develop your skills in the Water Industry.
Location: Based in Ipswich – with travel within the surrounding areas using the company van provided
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Weekly paid with a basic salary of £10.90 per hour or £22,672 annually with the potential to significantly increase your take-home package with overtime.
Responsibilities
As a Trainee Field Technician for the Anglian Water Alliance team your day-to-day will include:
- Deploying water-leakage equipment to listen under the ground to detect leakage noises from pipes so the data can be used to plan works across the region
- Reading and interpreting water maps to then transfer data to your tablets
- Interacting with customers on a daily basis
No experience required; we will provide you with full training.
You must hold a Full UK Driving License and we will provide you with nationally recognized training such as EUSR Water Hygiene, Blue Card, Streetworks and Manual Handling Training certifications, in order to successfully carry out the role. We will provide additional training and development to help you progress within your career on the Kier - Anglian Water Alliance.
