Job description
We are a successful, award-winning and growing company with innovative, life-saving products. Due to sustained growth in the company we are looking to further strengthen our engineering team by recruiting a Field Service Technician / Engineer.
Salary £22K – £24K + van + fuel card + pension + training + mobile phone + laptop + increasing holiday entitlement + employee recognition schemes
What will I be doing?
After receiving full training on our innovative range of products & the RF technologies behind them, you’ll be out in the field, where you will play a key part in the engineering team.
You’ll be saving lives on a daily basis, by maintaining our systems (PPM, fault calls & repair in the field) at customer sites across the country. Our customers vary in industry, from Universities to Government buildings and blue chip companies to historic buildings, giving you variety in where you work.
Where will I work?
You’ll mostly be at our customer sites, which are throughout the UK, at places like Universities, Colleges, Local & Central Government, Hospitals and blue chip companies. You will also be required to spend some time at our Operations Centre (in Derby) from time to time for training, meetings and to collect stock.
What are we looking for?
- Field servicing/maintenance/fault call/repair experience (e.g. fire alarms/burglar alarms/CCTV)
- Full driving licence
- Good knowledge of the UK road network
- Good IT skills (for admin tasks and programming our equipment)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
- Ability to work unsupervised and still work to a high standard
- Be a neat worker with excellent standards of quality
- Must be able to pass enhanced DBS check (due to customer requirements)
It isn’t essential but would be a real bonus if you had any of the following:
- RF knowledge
- Electrical qualifications
- CSCS/ECS card
- IPAF, PASMA
What are the hours?
Our engineers work annualised hours. This is where you agree to the number of hours you will work during the whole year, and although the number each week may vary you will receive the same salary each month – great for your budgeting.
We’d be looking at someone to work around 40 hours per week for this position, although this is open to negotiation. Our standard working days are Monday to Friday and we don’t work on bank holidays. You will be required to stay away from home sometimes (you will be given a Premier Inn business account card for this), however the amount will vary from week to week.
What will I have to wear?
You will be given corporate clothing to wear, which consists of polo shirts, trousers and jackets, along with any PPE required.
