Keep reading - we may well have the opportunity for you...
Who Are We?
GivEnergy is a manufacturer of electronic equipment designed to manage energy use and production. We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money. Last year we diversified into the smart plug arena (providing our end-users with real-time data and autonomy of energy usage) and we have plans to roll-out our very own electric vehicle charger and all-in-one system over the next year. On top of all this, GivEnergy Europe was formed at the end of 2022 and we’re excited to continue our success across the channel!
GivEnergy is one of the UK’s largest domestic and commercial battery manufacturers. The industry is booming and there couldn’t be a better time join the renewable industry.
The Role:
Our Field Service Engineers play such a crucial role in our continued success, ensuring our end-users continue to receive the highest standards of customer service and any of their problems are resolved by our team of highly competent engineers.
Due to our continued success and increase rate of install (over 120 batteries a day), we’re looking to add additional Field Service Engineers to our team based across the country to help increase the standard of service we provide and decrease our existing SLAs.
If you've had some exposure to electrical work, you're happy to travel and you get your job satisfaction from learning, fixing and repairing, we may well have a golden ticket for you. Providing you have some electrical knowledge, even if you have no electrical qualifications, we'll fund a Part P Course to get you up to speed and safe to work with our equipment. Enjoy your work? We'll continue to invest in you and fund your 18th qualification, too.
We just ask that you never lose the curiosity that initially drew your attention to this role, and that you're happy to go the extra mile (sometimes figuratively, sometimes literally!) to provide our end-users with the absolute top-notch service they deserve.
What you’ll be doing:
The Field Services Engineer is responsible for the testing, maintenance and repair of our domestic and commercial energy storage systems for installers and end users to provide minimal downtime and an excellent level of customer service.
This will be a really varied role, from supporting new or existing end users in the understanding of their system through to diagnosing potential operational issues with the installation or equipment. This role will require nationwide travel and it may be necessary to stay away occasionally to prevent excess travel times. A company vehicle, laptop and expense card will be provided.
Day to day requirements of the role may include:
- Self-management of vehicle and ‘van stock’ to ensure the parts required are in stock on the vehicle to prevent return visits
- Working along side the workshop to ensure equipment is signed in and out correctly
- Identification and resolution of potential issues with equipment both on and off site including completing a pre-defined site visit sheet to keep track of installation errors or product issue.
- Liaison between the different departments within the business to develop new and current products
- On-site training to new and existing installers or distributors
Full product specific training will be given to the successful candidate and you would be joining a growing knowledgeable team.
What we're looking for:
If it's a yes to all or most of the below, we want to hear from you!
- Full UK Driving License (essential)
- Some electrical competence, or an electrical background. No formal qualifications required as we will provide these
- Happy to travel, with 2 nights per week potentially as overnight stays
- A Self Isolation qualification or willingness to obtain this upon joining the Company (funded by us)
- IT skills, as both off and on site will require the use of a PC/Laptop
- Happy to work collaboratively or independently
- Experience or a passion for the Renewable Energy industry
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Outstanding communication skills, both spoken and written
- Efficient planning and organisation capability
- Interest in problem solving and issue identification
- An active learner with a thirst for knowledge
- Keen attention to detail
- Positive and Helpful attitude
