Davies Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Field Engineer to join our Automotive Field Engineering team within Davies Motor Engineering. You will be qualified to a minimum of I.A.E.A or ATA (VDA) standard with current or recent experience working as an automotive engineer or body shop estimator. You will be able to assess value and negotiate repair costs; provide vehicle valuations; negotiate total loss settlements and have a detailed understanding of salvage categories and claims management.
Experience of vehicle estimating systems such as Audatex and Glassmatix is essential for this opportunity. AQP qualification is preferred.
Key responsibilities:
· To produce high quality reports
· Assess, value and negotiate repair costs
· Provide vehicle valuations
· Negotiate total loss settlements
· Have a detailed understanding of salvage categories
· Claims management
· Liaise with Field planning team, repairers and customers
· Support other members of the team as and when the need dictates
Key elements of the role:
· Travelling to inspection locations nationwide to assess vehicles
· Inspection scope extends from Cars to HGV’S, Agricultural implements, and caravans
· Attend to Quality and Audit inspections
· Resolve customer complaints
· Consistency of damage
· Diminution in value
· Ensure instruction to reporting timescales remains within SLA’s
· Contribute to a engaging and collaborative working environment
· Adapt to the constantly changing requirements of the department and the company and perform additional tasks as may be required
What we're looking for:
· Full UK driving license
· Structured in your approach with effective time management and the ability to manage your workload, prioritising to ensure that deadlines are met
· Good attention to detail, analytical thinker, solutions focused and great at problem solving
· Thrives working in a fast paced and changing environment with the ability to work using own initiative
· Verbal and written communication to an exceptional standard
· Capable of handling sensitive and confidential material
· Confident negotiator
