Job Title: QA & QC Point of Care Service Engineer
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Leamington Spa
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Your role and responsibilities:
Antech Diagnostics are looking for a highly motived and self-driven QA & QC Point of Care Service Engineer to join our brand new Diagnostics Laboratory in Leamington Spa. In this role you will maintain, repair, and test microprocessor based electronic instrumentation and/ or perform a variety of manufacturing tasks to assemble, fill, package and inspect products as needed. Additionally, you will assist, instruct, and monitor assigned tasks of the other personnel and provide training and guidance as needed.
This opportunity will be based on site of our brand new facility, which is opening soon in the Leamington Spa area, however there is an expectation of some travel (this may include overnight stays) within your assigned territory. Having a full valid driving licence is necessary in this position. This opportunity also requires frequent moving and lifting of instruments up to 33kg assisted.
Key responsibilities include:
- Servicing, repairing, maintaining and modifying microprocessor based electronic instruments and components.
- Working on medical devices such as blood and urine analysers, typically you will be problem identifying, troubleshooting and problem solving, using computerized web-based test systems, and recording necessary data digitally.
- You will also perform a variety of manufacturing tasks such as assembling, cleaning, packaging and inspecting the repaired or refurbished products before they are ready for shipment.
- Since you will be working in an electronics-based workshop environment, we will provide you with safety equipment. Will be expected to follow and develop SOP and work instructions. You should also maintain a clean & organised work area.
- Recording of information in real time.
- You may provide guidance to other employees
- You may assist in establishing new processes or improvements to existing processes
Experience and skill set required:
- Degree or equivalent preferred, or combination of education and industry experience.
- 2-3 years relevant experience, ideally working with lab equipment, solutions and reagents are preferred
- Self-motivated problem solver with good troubleshooting skills
- An aptitude for electronics/ mechanical repairs
- Strongly detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret document in English
- Effective communication skills and have the ability to escalate difficult issues where needed
- Basic to moderate tasks in one or more work centres. May cross-train in other centres.
- Completes tasks under moderate supervision
- Able to solve problems as part of a team and a flexible team player
- Computer literate
