The Business Systems Data Analyst will play an important role in LandSolutions (LS) digital journey and innovation, with a focus on data management, business intelligence, and technology solutions for corporate and divisional initiatives. The position is located in our Calgary head office, with a hybrid work environment available.
This individual will be primarily responsible for data management (including integrations, transformations, migrations, and relevant application support), business intelligence solutions (includes LandTraxx v3 reporting), Business Process Design & Automation initiatives, SharePoint administration, and basic IT oversight.
Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Analyze the structure of a business to determine how it operates and determine its objectives, identifying any problems with the current business model, designing potential solutions to any problems identified, overseeing and/or executing the implementation of approved process improvements
- Assist in business process design and management including automation of process with technology tools
- Enhance reporting outputs and data visualization to provide clarity and insightful information that supports data driven decision making
- Work as the lead and expert for all data management, transformation, migrations (ETL), repositories, data standards, common language, and data hygiene for company applications
- Provide advice and recommendations to the VP Technology Solutions on opportunities to improve performance/capacity and to mitigate risk of application services
- Provide day to day operation of applications services in accordance with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, which include incident management, problem management, release management, change management, etc
- Participate in work teams with stakeholders in IT, Project Management Office (PMO), vendors, and other business practice groups from an application support perspective which includes soliciting input and working with IT Security to ensure compliance to security policy and requirements
Competencies and Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology
- Minimum of 7 years of business systems analysis, business analysis, and systems\application support experience; Certifications (CBAP, PMP) is an asset
- 2+ years of SharePoint administration support
- 3+ years of experience with MS SQL Server (relational DBMS); MS SQL, and ETL tools
- 3+ years of experience with Power BI and DAX
- Possess broad range of technical/application knowledge (business, middleware, end user computing software, SaaS, PaaS, networking, security, etc.) with a general understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
- Project management experience in leading team to meet deadlines, stay on budget, stay within scope, manage change, and provide deliverables
- Exceptional knowledge and experience with ETL tools and data migration practices
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with MS SQL Server (relational DBMS); SQL and DAX
- Knowledge and experience with web development principles and SaaS applications
- Knowledge and experience with Azure platform and subscription
- Knowledge and experience with JSON, HTML and XML
Knowledge and experience in GIS, land access, telecommunications, renewable, power, and infrastructure is an asset
- Occasional travel required domestically and/or abroad
- Salary is based on experience, minimum $90,000 annually
