Job description
We have three exciting Technical Administration positions within our Field Operations Teams, in our Ely (based in Ely), Haddiscoe (based in Norwich or Haddiscoe) and Colne (based in Wivenhoe at the Colne Barrier, with occasional travel to Chelmsford and St. Osyth) teams.

In this role you will provide technical support to our Field Operations, and Mechanical and Electrical teams, as well as our Incident Response Co-ordinators. You will complete work orders, produce hazard maps, undertake utilities searches, support with our incident response work, help with coordinating training and provide general administration support to our teams within Operations. It is a wide-ranging and varied role.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are willing to learn new skills, with full training and support given. This role will give you great exposure to many aspects of Operations within the organisation and will be a fantastic development opportunity.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You'll be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

Whilst a driving license is not essential for this role, there will be a requirement to travel to other offices to support teams, visit sites to gather information, and to undertake training.

If you want to be a part of the climate change challenge and part of a team of dedicated professionals, then this is the role for you.

We offer a fantastic benefits package including an attractive salary, flexible working, 25 days annual leave, and an award-winning Pension Fund. See the candidate pack for more details.

The team
Working in either the Field Operations Teams or the Mechanical and Electrical Teams, you will be part of the Operations department. Field Operations help maintain our flood risk assets, undertake projects and respond to incidents. You will also liaise with other teams within the organisation, giving you good appreciation for Operations and Flood Risk Management as a whole.
Experience/skills required
Essential:
  • Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn.
  • Keen to develop your own skills.
  • Willing to work outside when required.
  • Able to work independently, plan your time and priorities, but also be a team player, able to communicate and discuss work with yours and other teams.
  • Happy to ask questions and challenge, with a willingness to offer your own thoughts and ideas.
  • Confident in handling data.
  • Good IT skills, able to use MS packages and willing to learn new IT packages.

It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:
  • Flood risk asset management knowledge, but all training will be provided.

There are fully funded opportunities to develop further academic/professional qualifications.

The candidate pack and generic role profile should be read along with the advert to understand the key accountabilities and skills needed.
