Role: Field IT Engineer
Location: Carlisle, CA1
Hours: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: Dependant on experience & Bonus Scheme
About the role…
A brand new opportunity has arisen for a Field IT Engineer to join EG Group, one of the world’s largest independent convenience retailers.
Your role will be covering Carlisle / North East areas including Scotland and will involve delivering incident, IMAC and remote services for multiple food to go brands including Greggs, Starbucks and Burger King. You will also be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repairs to a range of equipment within our Fuel retail sites as well as refurbishments and new installations.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have good knowledge of POS & EPOS and thrive working under pressure. Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual with a keen eye for detail.

Please note: there will be occasional travel to sites that may require for you to stay overnight to enable you to complete an install or refit (expenses will be covered by EG Group)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Visiting various sites to repair or maintain POS equipment across all brands
Remove and reinstall POS equipment on refurbishment sites
Install new equipment and carry out tests, such as: network tests on new build sites
Ensure that the company standardisation is always adhered to
Manage call queues, keep tickets updated with latest actions and closing within SLA
Fault diagnosis and reporting
Completion of planned preventative maintenance programs
Assess and report accidental damage for costing purposes
Carry out site surveys to plan for safe installations
This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time
Candidate Requirements:
Must hold a full UK drivers licence (company car and Laptop will be provided)
Willingness to travel to different sites across the north of England and possibly further if required
Technical understanding and background in repairs and fault finding
Natural problem solver with great attention to detail
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff during site visits
Methodical diagnostic approach
Knowledge of EPOS systems – troubleshooting HW and SW
Knowledge of POS solutions
Knowledge of Wi-Fi Access points
Full training will be provided but prior experience is advantageous
Own tools would be preferred but not essential
