About the Role
The Quality Assurance (QA)/Product Assurance (PA) Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of all QHSE activities including Quality Assurance and Health and Safety and Environmental Management. To ensure that all processes employed under the space domain programme are developed/updated to meet all applicable standards as per the ISO 9001 certification of the organisation, alignment to ITIL, the Quality Management Plan and the Project Quality Plan.
The successful candidate will establish collaborative relationships across and beyond their own area of responsibility to maximise the business’ performance. They will work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-contractor team and demonstrate initiative. They must also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills including key influencing abilities.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- The successful candidate must have experience of managing QA/PA activities on at least two satellite manufacturing programmes including design, development, and manufacturing,
- The successful candidate must have experience of managing QA/PA activities relating to satellite ground segment programmes such as earth station design, development, and implementation,
- Knowledge and experience of satellite communications systems and their sub-systems is essential.
- The successful candidate should have experience with IT environments, software and systems engineering tools for design, integration and test, system assurance and deployment, system maintenance and upgrade, systems decommissioning as well as disposal activities.
- Delivering, supporting, or adapting organisational Business Management Systems to ISO certification standards.
- Must possess interpersonal skills and be able to function in a multi-contractor environment with the ability to broker conflicting inputs from multiple stakeholders/organisations.
- Outstanding team player, strong technical and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change.
- Self-motivated and able to work under no supervision with the ability to function effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
- UK resident, UK Citizenship; Current SC clearance;
- Experience in achieving QA certification of facilities and/or companies is highly desirable.
- The candidate must also understand the operation of communications systems in the context of interconnectivity with other systems.”
- Certified ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 lead assessor auditor
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Strong organizational skills to include project planning and scheduling.
- Strategic thinking with a bias towards delivering impactful results.
- Understanding of how strategic initiatives align with short- and long-term customer strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related master’s degree.
