Job description

Reporting to the Head of Professional Services, the Field and Support Engineer will have an expert knowledge of RF/IT systems analysis and network system design and will be one of the main technical interfaces into Airsys for all our dealers, a trusted advisor they turn to when making major project decisions.


Collaborating with your colleagues within both Sales and Technical departments, you'll enable our dealers to gain maximum benefit from their partnership with Airsys by helping them gain a detailed understanding of how our products and services can solve real problems for their customers. Through listening to our dealers’ needs, and investing heavily in our products and people, we have arrived at an exciting point in our evolution as the Europe’s number one distributor.

Responsibilities include:

  • As part of the Engineering Team, you will collaborate with customers to form comprehensive RF/IT systems analysis and network system design, to support and deliver their customers’ projects. Leading the engagement, partnering with the necessary internal resources to ensure a successful delivery of the agreed solution. Complete oversight on projects from conception, to order fulfilment, and finally dealer sign off.
  • On occasion, assist dealers with system installations where necessary.
  • Partnering with the sales team (Sales and Product Specialists) to identify and qualify sales opportunities.
  • Understanding dealers’ technical priorities & objectives and mapping Airsys solutions to best support those requirements.
  • Providing inputs on proposed requirements for implementing and supporting new products based upon dealers’ feedback.
  • Focal point for procedure related activities post-design / customisation through to operational support (possibly including out of hours / on-call support)
  • Manage solution test campaigns in the classroom, coordinate between the test team and Customer’s.
  • Take charge of all training programs and carry out system training customers at Airsys, on customer site or remotely.
  • Periodically develop new training programs where needed, to be added to the Airsys training portfolio.
  • Work together with the Technical and Programming Engineer to support Customer Services


Qualifications and/or skills:

  • Engineering diploma or HNC in computing.
  • Prince2 / PMP / Agile (or equivalent) but not essential


Previous experience:

Essential:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
  • Wireless Point to Point network experience
  • Knowledge & support experience of cloud hosting (inc AWS services)
  • Knowledge & support experience of Android & iOS communication devices and apps
  • Motorola Tetra Systems Technical experience
  • Teamwork with good communication skills
  • MS Office (Word, Excel)


Presales
:

  • Partnering within the sales team (Sales and Product Specialists) to identify and qualify sales opportunities.

  • Providing inputs on proposed requirements for implementing and supporting new products based upon dealers’ feedback.


Desirable:

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Setup & support all client workstations (Setup of all user accounts and all required software such as VPN client, Office Packages, Antivirus)
  • Analysis skills and methodical approach to problem resolution and investigations
  • Understanding of the functionality of RF/IT communications and practical knowledge of test campaigns
  • Availability to work ‘out-of-hours’ during some weekdays and weekend.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.


Hours of work:
09:00 – 17:30 Monday to Friday
