Now, we're looking for a skilled and experienced Fibre Splicer/Tester to join our dynamic team.

About the Role:

As a Fibre Splicer/Tester, you will play a vital role in our mission to provide high-quality fibre infrastructure to our customers. You will be responsible for splicing and testing on existing and new build networks, ensuring adherence to specific customer specifications. This role involves a combination of external and internal work, offering diverse and engaging opportunities to showcase your expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse trace results to identify and resolve any issues efficiently.
  • Read and interpret straight line drawings and fibre allocation sheets.
  • Install and commission fibre infrastructure according to instructions, maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Perform fibre repair, patching, and splicing tasks.
  • Conduct Rod & Roping and network cabling tests.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) networks.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols, always wearing relevant personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform jointing tasks for both overhead (OH) and underground (UG) fibre connections.
  • Locate blockages and establish clear routes for fibre installation.
  • Generate accurate A55's and ensure compliance with PIA standards.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Implement civils avoidance measures to minimize disruption.
  • Familiarity with signing, lighting, and guarding requirements as per NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act).
  • Accept delivery of materials, verifying their fitness for purpose prior to use.
  • Conduct daily site-specific risk assessments and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Desirable certifications: SA001, SA001A, SA002, S5, S8, S9.
  • Minimum 96F splicing experience.
  • Previous network experience.
  • Valid driver's license with less than 6 points.
  • NSWRA (New Roads and Street Works Act) ticket.

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
