Fibre Network Engineer - Permanent, Full time
Salary of up to £32,000 dependant on experience plus excellent pension scheme, 28 days annual leave plus volunteering days, life assurance and corporate discount scheme
Location – Field Based, Hull and Surrounding Areas
Business Area - Wholesale & Networks

What will I be doing?
Within the role of Fibre Network Engineer, you will carry out installation and maintenance across the whole Wholesale and Network estate within the core UG infrastructure network. You will be installing and maintaining core infrastructure providing quality telecommunications services and related products to business and residential customers.
More specifically, your key accountabilities will include:
Build core infrastructure across entire Wholesale and Network Estate, including but not limiting to:
Full Fibre Expansion- Internal Construction Towns
As well as:
New Build Estates and existing Core infrastructure- Provide Jointing experience to internal projects, such as new transmission network
- Install dedicated infrastructure to Business Lightstream services and private circuit / Ethernet circuits to business customer properties
- Maintain core infrastructure to ensure smooth running of the fibre network across both Business and Consumer networks
- Carry out complex NRSWA scheme related projects – diverting plant and equipment as per plan often working unsociable hours to achieve
- Carry out fast response to damages caused within the network by third parties, being able to react and correct problems with both tactical (short term) and strategical (long term) solutions
- Maintain high levels of Health & Safety at all times for that of self and others within their working area
- Sometimes work outside of office hours to meet customer needs – minimising disruption to service
- Interface with both business & residential customers
- Interface with internal departments – planning, TPD, BPG, works control, etc.
We are looking for individuals who:
Has a full, valid UK driving licence- Has experience within either of the following areas:
- Multiskilled engineer with the ability to cover - Copper Installs, Cabling and Faulting, VOIP & VDSL
- UG Fibre network installing and maintenance, VOIP Site installation & Maintenance knowledge on large scale NRSWA projects
- Demonstrates the right desire and attitude
- Always strives for continuous improvement
- Willing and able to work unsociable hours
