NYnet is
a Wide Area Network provider based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and is wholly
owned by North Yorkshire Council. We have built a high bandwidth Wide Area
Network supporting 750+ customer sites throughout North Yorkshire and the
surrounding area. We recently rolled out our own fibre network across 16 towns
in North Yorkshire consisting of over 220km of duct and fibre, whilst also
installing public Wi-Fi and LoRaWAN across the county.
Due to
continued growth, we are creating a new Fibre Direct Labour resource and are
therefore recruiting for a Fibre Installation Engineer to be the Senior member
of the new team. The Fibre Installation Engineer will be involved in the
recruitment of a Trainee Installation Engineer and will make recommendations for
equipment necessary to create this new team allowing you to choose the Splicer
and OTDR you prefer. This would suit someone who has experience of
splicing and laying fibre in PIA duct, ideally with experience of internal PIA
work as well.
The
engineer will be required to have no more than 6 points on a full valid UK
driving license. A company van will be provided.
Working
Hours will be 35 hours between 8 and 5 Monday to Friday but some flexibility is
required beyond these times.
The
successful applicant will be required to pass a Basic DBS disclosure as well as
Police Vetting.

Essential:
Openreach PIA Accreditation- NRSWA Operative
- Holds a full UK Driving
License - Experience within a similar
role undertaking fibre works and splicing in the Openreach network - Previous experience
documenting builds - Comfortable Working at
Height on ladders - Able to produce
documentation both before and after installs - Competent fibre splicer
- Experienced with OTDR
testing for faults and testing of new circuits

NRSWA Supervisor Card. If not held training will be provided and you will
be required to successfully pass this in order to pass your probation
