Role Overview

The candidate will be responsible for installing and splicing fibre optic cables into domestic dwellings, including assisted minor civils.

What you’ll do

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

Install fibre cable from distribution points into domestic properties
Trace and dig to locate existing communications ductwork
Minor civils including reinstatement
Overhead spanning of fibre via poles using ladder and/or MEWP
Connect routers to Network supplies
Tracing and rectifying of faults
Carrying out job specific Point of Work Risk Assessments
Ensuring a high level of client satisfaction
Maintain productivity to a high level and minimise non-productive time
Maintain appropriate stock levels
Timesheet management.
Representing the company in a competent and professional manner
Other duties as may be required

What you'll bring

As a Fibre Engineer your main skills and experience will include:

Essential Criteria

Possess significant relevant experience in a similar role
Experience of underground and/or overhead fibre installation including termination
Experience of successfully managing their own health & safety
Experience in managing stock levels
Possess strong IT skills.
Display excellent organisational and planning skills
Possess a full valid driving licence

Desirable Criteria

Experience with ladders or MEWP to work at height
Street works, PIA, abrasive wheels, CAT & Genny training
Experience of locating ductwork using CAT & Genny
PIA training for UG/OH works
Flexible with finish times, possess a desire for overtime
