An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quran/Qaidah, Tajweed and Islamic Studies teacher to join our successful after school club. Raising Explorers is a unique Ofsted registered childcare centre providing Islamic and academic education as part of our service. The responsibility for the role will be to plan and deliver innovative and engaging lessons in Tajweed and Islamic Studies to children between the ages of 5-15 using our textbooks, course books and other learning materials in the Islamic Curriculum.
Responsible for: To ensure that children are provided high quality education in line with the centres expectations. Manage and teach a class of up to 18 children with the aid of a co teacher / teaching assistant.
Hours of work options & availability:
- Monday to Friday - between the hours of 4:00pm - 7:30pm
Role & Responsibilities:
- Promote and guide the students to achieve their full potential in all Islamic subjects
- Expected to maintain and prioritise own workload in line with the centres objectives
- Effectively achieve set targets in line with the centres expectations
- Comply with all policies, legislation and all codes of practice of Raising Explorers
- Establish ground rules that underpin appropriate behaviour and respect for others
Qualifications and Skills
Person specification Essential qualities:
- Excellent knowledge of Tajweed (NECESSARY)
- Excellent knowledge of Islamic Studies
- Experience of working in a teaching role at Masjid, Maktab or Madrassa - Exceptional candidates with less experience are also welcome to apply
- Passionate about raising achievement and providing the best possible Islamic education for all children
- Ability to work on own initiative and identify new opportunities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, organised and professional
- Portray a positive attitude
- UK candidates only
Desirable:
- Successfully completed Aalimah/Hifz course or a similar Islamic course
Benefits
Salary: National Minimum Wage (Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
Holiday Entitlement : 28 days holiday per annum (pro rata, including Bank Holidays)
PLEASE NOTE: This position is NOT a working from home/remote working role. You MUST be able to commute to Raising Explorers (Bradford, BD8 8BD)
