Job Title: Female Football Development Manager

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000

Department: Sports Participation

Reports to: Head of Community Sport

Responsible for:

Increasing participation opportunities and pathways for women and girls across our Community Football Development, Post-16 Education and Communities Engagement programmes. The post holder will be tasked with developing and implementing a department strategy that sets out the actions we will take to help remove barriers and improve opportunities and outcomes for women and girls. The post holder will predominantly work daytime hours but will be required to work evenings and weekends where appropriate.

With our community work spanning more than three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all backgrounds.

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust delivers a range of programmes in education, employability, sports participation, health and community engagement. The Trust is entering an exciting phase of expansion and now operates across two new state of the art sites. We are a key partner at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub which opened its doors to the public in 2021, whilst also enjoying a purpose-built office space at our Community Stadium Hub adjacent to the Brentford FC Stadium.

Main Purpose of Job

The successful candidate will play a valuable role in the management and implementation of our Girl’s Football Player Pathway which includes FA Wildcats, FA Squads, Premier League Kicks Girls, Girl’s Football Development Centres, Emerging Talent Centre, and Post-16 Girl’s Football & Education programme.

You will be an inspiration on women and girl’s football with an enthusiastic approach to driving positive change at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. You will already have a good understanding of relevant topics such as community initiatives, player development and project management.

The postholder will be tasked to further enhance key relationships with local stakeholders such as schools, grassroots clubs, and project partners to increase participation opportunities and provide support to participants which allows them to achieve positive outcomes, such as coaching qualifications, volunteering opportunities and routes into employment.

Responsibilities

· Manage the Trust’s current female football plan across Sports Participation, Communities’ Engagement, and Post-16 Education departments.

· Develop new women and girl’s provision across key areas of Hounslow, Ealing, Richmond, Hillingdon, Spelthorne, and Berkshire.

· Be responsible for collaborating with key partners within the local community to oversee the delivery, development, and strategic implementation of the Trust’s female football plan.

· To manage and coordinate the Trust’s involvement in the Women’s Euro’s Legacy group, ensuring post tournament legacy is planned and implemented.

· Demonstrate that participants have improved mental and physical well-being, they feel inspired and engaged, they’ve developed their skills and knowledge which has led to improved confidence and self-esteem and created more opportunities to participate in competitive sport and physical activity.

· Support the wider Trust workforce to ensure programmes are inclusive and any barriers preventing women and girls from participating currently are addressed.

· Develop and upskill a workforce of delivery staff to ensure the highest standards are met and exceeded.

· Any other reasonable duties.

The Selection Criteria Essential

· Minimum Level 2 or above sports coaching qualification.

· Safeguarding certificate.

· Emergency Aid certificate.

· Current DBS.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in delivering football and physical activity to women and girls.

· Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to establish and maintain good working relationships.

· Experience in planning and delivering football development programmes.

· Ability to travel to variety of workplaces within West London utilising own transport.

Desirable:

· FA UEFA B or higher qualification

· Project management qualifications and/or experience

· In depth knowledge of FA and Premier League community programmes

· Computer Literate (Microsoft Office) / IT skills

The job holder will have responsibility for promoting ethics, safeguarding and the welfare of children – the Trust expects all staff to share this commitment. The job holder will be provided with a Contract of Employment (detailing all terms and conditions) and a Brentford FC Community Sports Trust staff handbook.

This is a position of trust and involves regular and direct contact with children (under 18s), and is subject to DBS Disclosure at Enhanced Level, satisfactory references, and a three-month probationary period. There could potentially be a delay in the start of the programme pending the completion of the DBS process.
