KMPT are recruiting a Medical Education UG Fellow - Grade ST4-ST6

This is a full time post (40 Hours) on a 12-month fixed term Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) from 02/08/2023 to 07/08/2024.

This Medical Education Fellowship Post is being hosted by Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT). The fellowship role is a full time position that has been created to support with Undergraduate workstreams in relation to Medical Student Psychiatry Placement taking place at KMPT. The medical students we receive are linked to Medical Schools: King's College London School of Medicine (GKT), Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) and St Georges International Medical School Grenada.

This post is designed to support ST4-6s who wish to make a commitment to education as part of their career. The 12-month ‘out of programme experience’ (OOPE) post, based at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, is aimed at those who wish to build on their personal teaching experience, develop expertise in educational theory and practice, and undertake supervised educational research.

The post holder will have a designated educational mentor who will oversee their development as an educator during the placement and co-ordinate opportunities for personal development. A customised programme of training and educational experience will be designed around the needs of the individual.

Although an enthusiasm for teaching is a prerequisite, no assumptions will be made about formal knowledge of educational theory or practice. Hands-on teaching will be central to the post, as will a critical engagement with educational issues around providing undergraduate and postgraduate training in a changing context, both nationally and locally.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
1. Supporting education for medical students.
2. Supporting the requirement to meet the needs of the LDA (Learning and Development Agreement) , which is our contract with Health Education England.
3. Supporting the need to meet the requirements of KMMS.
4. Supporting the need to meet the requirements of GKT Kings College London.
5. Supporting the requirement to meet the needs of the St Georges Medical School Grenada Contract.
6. Contribute to the development of MDT training in KMPT
7. Increasing the profile of KMPT as a major education provider
8. Increasing the popularity of KMPT among trainee doctors.
