Job Description: Fashion Design Studio Intern

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Fashion Design Studio Intern to join our busy and dynamic team. Our fashion design studio offers a wide range of services, including fashion care services such as alterations and repairs, as well as creating unique and innovative fashion pieces. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a small fashion business, working alongside a diverse, female-led team. This role is perfect for someone looking to explore various aspects of the fashion industry, as tasks will vary from administrative duties to hands-on fashion creation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing appointments.
  • Support the design team in creating new fashion pieces, including pattern making, sewing, and finishing techniques.
  • Contribute to the fashion care services, including alterations, repairs, and garment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the team on brainstorming and developing new design concepts.
  • Conduct research on current fashion trends, materials, and techniques to provide insights for future projects.
  • Help maintain the organization and cleanliness of the studio, including inventory management and studio supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for fashion design and a strong desire to learn about the fashion industry.
  • Basic knowledge of sewing, pattern making, and garment construction.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a diverse team.
