Job description
Are you interested in working as part of a team on a farm and packing eggs? In this role, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of our farm, such as maintaining the high welfare for the hens, egg collecting, egg grading and packing, cleaning and disinfecting. In this role, you will support our farm manager in the day to day activities on a modern poultry farm.
Full training will be provided and you do not need any previous experience.
Indicative working hours over a fortnight duration (working 11 days in 14):
Week 1: 8am - 5:30pm - Monday to Friday.
Week 2: 8am - 5:30pm - Monday to Thursday; 8am - 12:30pm - Saturday & Sunday
Availability for locking up hens approx. 2 - 3 evenings per week during summer months.
Daily duties will include:
- Daily flock checks and husbandry procedures
- Assist with the grading and packing of eggs
- Keep site clean, tidy and disinfected to maintain strict bio-security
- Assist with bird placement and de-population
- Assist with minor farm maintenance
- Complete all daily tasks in line with biosecurity procedures
- Communicate any problems found to the farm manager
