Job description
Hay Farms is a family run business producing chickens for major UK retailers. We have over 20 years experience in this area of agriculture and we are looking to recruit team members for our site in West Yorkshire.
We have an excellent team of managers, assistants and support staff but due to ongoing expansion driven by our customer relationships we are seeking new applicants to join us. Our most important asset is the staff who rear and nurture our broiler birds on the farms.
This role is primarily 6am to 2pm, Monday to Friday with some switching of days required to cover busy weekends (we're expecting and committing to under half of weekends being worked on average through a year). There will also be periods where times are changed or extra hours needed on a busy day when the birds really need us and we'll reduce hours on other days to make that fair. Equally - if you have commitments on certain days, we can switch work round to make that work too. It has to work both ways and we will whenever we can.
We will train you to help us look after the birds in our care, the houses they live in and to understand what we do as farmers. No previous experience is required - just a commitment to want to work, a drive to do the right thing and the ability to work with others and by yourself.
The opportunity for progressing within the business and sector is large, and opportunities will become available to progress into Trainee Farm Manager/Farm Manager roles in the future if your ambitions and goals match ours.
