About us
Mill of Inverarity Farm Shop is based in Inverarity on the outskirts of Forfar. We are open Wednesday to Sunday.
Our well-stocked farm shop sells a range of our own beef, lamb and free-range eggs, along with a varied selection of other local Scottish produce including seasonally fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, traybakes and cupboard staples.
We are looking for a friendly and outgoing member of staff for our farm shop.
Must have a professional approach, friendly attitude and great attention to detail. Successful candidate should be confident in working alone and be organised and happy multitasking.
Previous shop or front of house experience would be beneficial as this is a more supervisory level role where you would be working primarily alone.
Knowledge of food handling and food hygiene helpful as takeaway coffees and traybakes sold.
No knowledge of farm life needed (although this would be an advantage) but must be comfortable in a farm setting and willing to learn background information.
Social media and marketing skills would be desirable.
Daily tasks include;
- Serving customers
- Handling food including unpackaged breads and pastries, fruit and veg and unpackaged traybakes
- Using and cleaning coffee machine. Training will be provided
- Managing and packing wholesale orders of eggs
- Receiving and checking deliveries
- Maintaining high hygiene standards
- Ordering, pricing and displaying stock
- Handling money and cashing up at end of day
Set hours of Wednesday-Friday 10am-4pm with potential of additional Mondays in future if required. Very occasionally weekend work may be required. We are a living wage employer. Must have own transport as rural farm location.
