Job introduction

We are looking for two Family Support Workers to join our Mental Health Support Team. This enthusiastic team are looking for Family Support Workers to join them in working with families and young people within Brighton and Hove.

You will need to have experience and be able support families of children and young people with mental health and wellbeing needs. You will also be required to provide information and guidance around the range of mental health and wellbeing offers within Brighton and Hove.

About the role

This role forms part of the Mental Health Support Team which is closely linked to the Schools Wellbeing Service, as such you will be working with a wide range of mental health clinicians based within schools and colleges within Brighton and Hove.

The role will involved managing referrals for FSW (Family Support Work) that have been made by Education Mental Health Practitioner/Primary Mental Health Worker, highlighting those families who need more immediate support and action these referrals.

You will have close contact with families, providing support and strategies in addition to delivering training as required.

You will be required to arrange home visits, liaising with schools and representing the SWS/MHST at meetings.

This post will suit someone who is committed to supported families and working with young people with mental health difficulties.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
