Job description
We understand what matters to our residents: an affordable home, good education, job opportunities and quality of life in a great location, as one of the UK’s fastest growing towns.
That is why we are working with partners to deliver our ambitious vision for Swindon so that the borough continues to thrive in the future and benefits from well-managed growth, investment and regeneration.
Your next role
Our Locality Safeguarding teams provide help and support to children, young people and families who are struggling in Swindon. We aim to ensure that children can safely be cared for in their families by providing practical and emotional support to overcome family problems. This is a great time to join our service as we grow and develop through the innovation of the Family Safeguarding model.
As a Family Support Practitioner, you will work alongside the Social Workers in the team to assess and meet the needs of families, and you will have responsibility for a small caseload of families where you take the lead role.
You will be required to plan and co-ordinate assessments and targeted support services for families, children and young people. You will support and implement children’s plans, and participate in reviews and meetings. You will be expected to produce good quality written records of your work and contribute to the team’s analysis of what families need.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
Your next package
Please see our Rewards and Benefits offer for more details.
As an employee, you will receive a diverse and exciting environment in which to work, encouraging creativity and innovation whilst recognising the need to support ongoing personal development and a flexible work life balance.
For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It’s why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change. With your contributions, we’ll achieve our vision of a prosperous, re-vitalised Swindon by 2030 together. And you’ll be proud to say it was made better with you.
