About The Role
Compass is delighted to have been selected as the new provider of Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in education settings in Derby and Derbyshire Building on the work of the Changing Lives Programme we are now recruiting to a range of new roles in the enhanced services.
If you have the passion and drive to deliver evidence-based support for parents/carers with low level emotional health needs which are directly impacting on their child’s wellbeing working across both educational settings and the community read on….
The Opportunity
This role is a real opportunity to help shape the services we provide with children, young people, families and educational settings and to develop your career in mental health support to children, young people and families.
Successful candidates will already possess a relevant qualification in youth work/children and families/psychology/counselling/mental health, such as a Diploma in Youth Work, Social Work, or accredited Counselling or equivalent NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People or families, social care or mental health alongside experience working with and knowledge of common mental health problems and supporting families.
About You
You will be knowledgeable and experienced in working with CYP and/or families with mental health needs; completing mental health assessments, engaging with families and communities as well as providing time limited evidence based interventions directly to parents, carers and families.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and be able to network with other agencies as central to the role.
About the team…
Derby and Derbyshire MHST is an early intervention mental health and emotional wellbeing service. The service delivers evidenced based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
It is part of the MHST Trailblazer Programme, which has been commissioned following the ‘Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Care Provision: A Green Paper’ (2017).
