FACTORY CLEANER

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:

Factory Cleaner / Janitor

ROLE SNAPSHOT:

To maintain the high levels of hygiene/cleanliness adhering to Company safety and Hygiene policies at all times.
You must have a flexible attitude, with a professional approach to your responsibilities. You must be reliable and hard working.

KEY TASKS:

Reception/Corridors/Offices/Meeting Rooms

Daily:

• Ensure entrance/reception is presentable – check door glass, litter-pick etc.
• Empty waste & recycling bins – insert new bin liners – only remove full recycle bags.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas.
• Vacuum/mop/machine hard floor areas.
• Clean all door kick and push plates.
• Clean door and other interior glass (to 2m) – remove fingerprints & smudges.
• Wipe and dust the furniture and all surfaces.
• Remove marks off walls.
• Wipe and polish desks (if the desk is clear) dust under and behind PC equipment.
• Meeting rooms to be prepared for use – check and clean as required.
• Collect cups & crockery and load dishwasher.
• Wipe clean light switches.
• Litter pick an external seating area and empty waste and cigarette bins.
• Dust picture frames and notice boards.
• Special duties as when required due to Covid-19.
• Dust/damp-wipe/vacuum all skirting boards.
• Wipe down chairs, table legs, desk cabinets – clean under all desks.
• Wipe and sanitize all telephones.
• IT equipment – dry wipe only.
• Dust all ledges, lintels up to a height of 6’.
• Dust radiators and any vents.
• Wipe and dust window sills/ledges.
• Wipe clean fire extinguishers.

Toilets

Daily:

• Vacuum/mop/machine and disinfect all floor areas.
• Empty all waste bins – insert new bin liners.
• Brush interior of toilet and urinals and disinfect.
• Disinfect sinks, taps, and splashbacks.
• Wash/dry and polish toilet seats.
• Damp wipe doors and handles and any furniture.
• Damp wipe and buff partition walls.
• Clean and polish mirrors.
• Clean all dispenser units and wipe sanitary bins.
• Clean walls and light switches, sills and vents.
• Replenish consumables as and when required.

Clean Room – Changing Rooms

Daily:

• Vacuum/mop/machine floors.
• Empty all waste bins – insert new bin liners.
• Clean wash troughs and taps (& shop floor).
• Wipe down doors, benches, shelving and lockers.
• Wipe down/scrub shower walls.
• Descale showerheads and taps.
• Clean and polish door glass and any mirrors.

Canteen

Daily:

• Sweep and mop floors.
• Wipe clean worktops and all surfaces.
• Sanitize sink/splash-back area.
• Empty bins and replace bin liner/s.
• Damp wipe and dust furniture.
• Wash up any items when required.
• Load and unload the dishwasher.
• Replenish consumables as and when required.
• Dust all ledges, lintels up to a height of 6’
• Clean interior of fridges and microwaves.
• Wipe down exterior of appliances and cabinets.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Essential:

• Prioritisation
• Completion of paperwork
• Effective communication
• Able to follow strict cleaning protocols

Experience:

• Previous experience of FMCG is essential

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
