The Facilities Specialist is responsible for coordinating safety, service, and miscellaneous activities to ensure the Organization’s facilities are operational.
Responsibilities of the Facilities Specialist :
- Ensure that facilities problems are identified and repaired quickly.
- Establish, implement, maintain, and audit safety protocols for Emergency Action Plan, LOTO, IIPP, Annual Fire Safety, First Aid Training, and Bi-Annual Forklift Training, etc.
- Acquire quotes for new/replacement tools, maintenance programs, infrastructure needs such as for security systems, alarms, HVAC, etc.
- Assist the Quality team with the administration of calibration and preventative maintenance program quarterly.
- Support IT team with technology needs such as but not limited to troubleshooting and repair; spec and acquire computers, printers, and replacement hardware; auditing and maintaining server/APC, networking hardware, etc.
- Provide backup coverage for shipping/receiving/warehouse logistics
- Support the Operations team on projects
- Assist in the coordination of special events such as holiday luncheons.
- Work together with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Facilities Specialist :
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience working with vendors and building management
- Ability to learn an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Work together with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs
