Birstall is a large retail park close to the M62 junction 27 and is surrounded by other retail parks which compromise of a Currys, Pizza Express, Ikea, Showcase Cinema and McDonald’s.
The role requirement is for an energetic, friendly, customer service focused individual to operate within the Birstall management office located on site. The individual should have a desire to learn from the current team and management and needs to be able to demonstrate solid organisation and communication skills in particularly.
There is also a need within the role to have access to personal transport, as on training days & other occasions, weekly trips to other properties will be required to lead initiatives and engagement there. It is likely that one site visit per week (other than Birstall) is needed. The locations of these visits may include Hull, Manchester and Birmingham. The rest of the time will be spent at Birstall and studying.
What will the apprentice be doing?
To provide a fantastic experience and welcome to any occupiers or visitors using Birstall. To work with the management team to ensure that Birstall and other properties are welcoming for customers and occupiers. This is an apprentice role where we will teach the individual the required technical and sector knowledge to be successful and progress. This will be supported by the IWFM level 3 apprenticeship to help improve skills and competency.
· Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and productive environment for our occupiers and visitors.
· Communication with occupiers on a regular basis via email and in person visits.
· Leading on site charity initiatives and engagement with local businesses and schools.
· Liaise with marketing specialists to promote the retail parks and run events.
· Collecting occupier trading data and imputing this into a client led portal.
· Organising on site meetings with management team and consultants .
· Drafting and updating emergency plans and evacuation procedures alongside Facilities Manager and ensuring they know in depth.
· Overseeing security, fire prevention, and other safety systems during the day and alerting the helpdesk of any issues.
· Collecting and inputting meter reads for landlord utility meters and occupier meters.
· On site scheduling of regular building maintenance and cleaning services.
· Contracting professionals for fabric repairs as needed.
· Sustainability initiatives around Net Zero and Energy and agreeing targets with the client and occupiers.
· Arranging for building improvements using Asset Operations Plan as guide.
· Booking in contractors using Bellrocks Safe Systems of Work.
· Supervising grounds staff and nurturing behaviours.
· Resolving complaints, problems, and requests from occupiers through clear communication and occupier meetings.
· Assisting with emergency response and evacuations.
- Concierge of all visitors and local knowledge of surrounding areas.

Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent English Language (Grade 4 or above) essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4 or above) essential
Training Provided
- Develop your skills in Facilities Management (FM) services through an apprenticeship programme that adds value to both your professional development and your employing organisation. This could be in hard and soft FM, health & safety, procurement, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and FM finance management.
- IWFM Award in FM
- Engaging in monthly workshops and one-to-one sessions with their Trainer Coach. Combination of face-to-face and remote as per the delivery model
- Off-the-job training of at least 6hrs per week to stretch and develop your knowledge, skills and workplace practices as agreed with your line manager
