Facilities Assistants Across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
The Facilities Directorate deliver a variety of services (e.g. patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, portering and transport) which support and contribute to the provision of quality patient care
Domestic Assistant
Duties include cleaning all areas of our hospitals clinical and non-clinical locations - activities will include wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, and furniture and toilet/bathroom areas.
Catering Assistant
Duties include delivery of catering services to patients, and for functions within the hospital, regeneration of patients’ meals either centrally or at ward level, plating patient meals at the point of service as advised by nursing staff and cleaning and wash-up of all equipment, machinery, and crockery associated with catering services.
Portering Assistant
Duties include regular and ad-hoc portering duties, and responding to emergency situations. To ensure that hospital, ward entrances, exits are kept clean at all times.

Fixed Term ( 6 months ), Part time opportunities are available.
No qualifications or experience are required as all training will be given on the job but you should be able to work under pressure and have good communication skills.
Enhanced hourly rates for weekend contracts and before 06:00 and after 20:00 for weekly contracts.
Please note candidates will be required to attend/travel to West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital for interview and if successful, 3-day centralised induction is mandatory before starting.
