Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team this role as a facilities assistant plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
The Hours: 1st role: 4 hours/day, 4 days/week up to 5th November, 2 hours/day, 4 days/week up to 11th Feb 24, 4 hours/day, 4 days/week to end of Feb. F/T contract to 29th Feb 24.
2nd role: 4 hours/day, 3 days/week up to 5th November, 2 hours/day, 3 days/week up to 11th Feb 24, 4 hours/day, 3 days/week to end of Feb. F/T contract to 29th Feb 24.
The Salary: £9.60 per hour
Duration: Fixed term contract until February 2024

The pay for this role will lift to a minimum of £10.42 on 1st April 2023 in line with the changes to the Government National Living Wage.
What it's like to work here:Souter Lighthouse, an icon of the North-East was the first lighthouse in the world designed to use electricity. Acquired by the National Trust in 1989, the machinery is in full working order, although no longer in use as a lighthouse. Surprisingly extensive inside, the complex now houses activity rooms, a shop, café and 2 holiday cottages. Visitors can learn about life as lighthouse keeper and climb the 76 steps to the top of the tower.
Click here for more information about this locationWhat you'll be doing:As the Facilities Assistant, you'll assist with the day to day cleanliness and presentation the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces. You’ll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor maintenance ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.
Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter picking will form a core part of the role, both inside and outdoors. You’ll ensure the highest standards of customer service across the area by always implementing a ‘customer comes first’ attitude. General maintenance work and helping within other teams will also form part of your role.
