Bacon’s College was established in the Surrey Docks peninsula in Rotherhithe, South East London in 1991 as a City Technology College, becoming an academy in 2007 and joined the United Learning Trust in 2018. Bacon’s has long been an important part of the fabric of the local community in south east London and has served the community in its various forms for over three hundred years. We are proud of that history and contribution and of the way the College has evolved and adapted to meet the needs of its young people.

Bacon’s has improved rapidly in recent years, recognised by Ofsted in June 2022 when we received a grading of ‘Good’ overall and in every area. We also celebrated our best ever GCSE outcomes in 2022 with 79% of students achieving 5+ 9-4 grades inc. English and Maths and a Progress 8 of +0.68 (expected). Our VI form results were also our best ever with 69% of grades at A*-B and an ALPS score of 2 (top 10% nationally). Facilities Assistant
Location: Bacon’s College, London, SE16
Salary: United Learning Support Staff Salary £ 25,018 per annum, 52 weeks a year. 37.5 hours a week

The role
Responsible for the security and facilities management services and to maintain a clean and hygienic site both internally and externally. To routinely check equipment and materials and carry out minor maintenance, repairs and decoration i.e. painting/displays. Porterage of deliveries as required, all with a close regard to health and safety.
Working hours 37.5 hours per week, Full Time, AYR (52 weeks) Rota System) 06:00-14:30 – 11:00-19:30
About you
Proven experience of working in a maintenance role is essential, experience of working in an education setting is desirable.
Good knowledge of general DIY tasks and experience of working with health and safety is essential for this role.
