Facilities Assistant Vacancy - Full time post
(Monday – Friday 13:00 – 21:00 and up to three weekend days in one month)
This is an exciting time for Facilities Management (FM) at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets as we have just moved into the New Town Hall. You have a real opportunity to be involved an excellent professional Facilities Management Service.
Role Purpose
The Facilities Assistant assists in looking after workspace and buildings within the Councils corporate property portfolio. The remit includes the Town Hall, Libraries, Idea Stores, Administration buildings, Youth Centres, Community building, Children’s Centres, Adults Centres and parks buildings.
The Post Holder may also work at a busy reception for a range of different service provider’s.
The Post Holder will deliver FM services into the Town Hall and across the other council buildings.
The post holder will ensure buildings are safe, clean, health and safety compliant, fit for purpose and ensure that value for money and excellent customer service is at the forefront of our service delivery.
The Post Holder will work over some weekend days overseeing events taking place at the Town Hall .
This post will include a weekend working allowance.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high quality FM service’s
- Provide basic report’s
- Report on building issues and suggest solution’s
- Ensure that buildings are compliant, secure, and fit for purpose
- Build great relationships with building users and meet their service requirement’s
- Ensure that customer issues are resolved quickly, and users are kept informed
The ideal candidate will:
Have excellent experience within a Facilities and or Customer service environment. You will have a successful track record of assisting in building great services, excellent problem-solving skills and will have experience and a proven ability to work with a range of staff and services to support excellent service delivery.
You will have great interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with conflicts in an effective way
We’ll also be looking for good IT skills including the use of MS Office. An Health and Safety qualification and knowledge of building surveying is desirable.
