We are seeking a Facilities Administrative Assistant to join our busy facilities team in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN). The NCDN is a world-class and growing research department in the Medical Sciences Division. For this role, you will provide professional, service-focused support to the diverse research work carried out in the Department as well as in the University departments that are co-located in the space: Cardiovascular Medicine Division (CVM), a Division of the Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM) and the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS).
You will be a visible member of the team undertaking a wide range of tasks from maintaining databases, to assisting with starter and leavers to the department, updating web pages and providing cover for reception. This role involves working with the Facilities Team and other professional support teams in NDCN such as HR and Academic Administration, as well as researchers and students.
Training will be provided to help you develop and succeed in this role.
This role also provides an excellent opportunity for a suitable individual to pursue a qualification while working for NDCN.
The successful candidate should be educated to at least A-level or equivalent and have experience of managing administrative processes or customer facing work. They should also have a good understanding of issues around confidentiality and information security. To be effective they will have a demonstrable commitment to outstanding service, with strong communication and organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They should also be able to use Office 365, MS Teams and email, and have experience of using databases. Experience of working within a higher education institution or within a service industry environment is desirable.
The post is full time for 3 years in the first instance.
