Job description
Property / Office: Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
Location: London, United Kingdom
F&B Intern
Serving guests in Mandarin Oriental goes beyond the crisp fold of a napkin or a perfectly poured Singapore Sling. Being an F&B Intern also means maintaining an oasis of peace for our guests.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is London’s most iconic address. The spirit of the city infuses every floor. The park’s green vastness rolls beyond bedroom windows. Renowned guests frequent the hotels’ bars and restaurants.
It’s another world. A world of oriental luxury and the most attentive service. A world that’s all about our guests.
It’s also a world that’s been reinvented and re-imagined to move with the times. With a heart of London’s heritage and an eye to the future, we use our own sense of history to set new standards – through kind, passionate and generous service.
We need F&B Interns to create the ultimate experience when our guests dine and drink with us.
As an F&B Intern, you’ll learn from some of the best in the industry; people who have walked these corridors for a great many years. We’re looking for F&B Intern who’ll be able to embody five-star service and our oriental origins: graceful movements, a humble calm, a true focus on the guest.
But humility can live side-by-side with ambition: we encourage anyone who serves our guests to look to their next opportunity. Currently, many of our F&B Heads of Department have been promoted from within. And because our elegant style of service is so translatable to other roles and regions, there are plenty of opportunities to spend time in our thirty-two other locations, too.
The F&B Interns will be responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure that mise en place levels are kept to standards
- Meet, greet and seat guests in a professional and efficient manner
- Serve food and beverages
- Clear and reset tables
- Wish “Farewell” to all guests
We offer our F&B Interns world class benefits including, but not limited to:
- Discounted stays at our beautiful Hotels
- Access to discounts and deals with over 200 popular high street retailers, including discounted gym memberships and travel deals
- Westfield Health cash plan, with children added at no extra cost
- Colleague Experience Stay in-house with breakfast included upon completed probation
- 50% F&B & Spa discount
- Friends & Family hotel rate and Spa discount
- Season ticket loan & cycle to work scheme
- Generous recruitment referral bonus
- Free meals on duty & uniform dry-cleaning services
- Life Insurance benefits whilst in service
- Highly discounted podiatry sessions
- Financial wellbeing, financial planning and mortgage advice workshops
- Employee Recognition Programmes
- Employee Assistance Program through Hospitality Action – giving you access to
- Social, wellbeing, charity, and sporting events throughout the year
- 1 paid Charity day per year to dedicate to a charity of your choice
- Fantastic learning and development opportunities for all levels of staff
- Excellent career progression with an iconic, luxury, global hotel brand
