This unique opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious professional to join our team here at Hillcrest Primary School!
We are looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic EYFS Lead who will initially join our Management Team on a fixed term of 4 terms (until July 2024) on a TLR3 with a view to extending that TLR and membership of the SLT if the first 4 terms are a success.
The successful candidate will have a clear vision for the delivery of the EYFS curriculum and demonstrate an ability to use research-based evidence to inform and reflect upon practice.
A TLR3 of £3028 for a fixed period of 4 terms (until July 2024) will be offered with a view to extending this TLR beyond that end point if the Early Years leadership has proven successful during that time
The successful candidate will also:
- Have an excellent understanding of the importance of the development of early reading and writing;
- Have a secure knowledge of the teaching and learning of phonics and strategies to encourage rich language acquisition;
- Demonstrate innovative approaches to making the transition between Reception and Year 1 a success;
- Support the EYFS team to make sound judgements about their pupil’s learning;
- Have a range of ideas for engaging parents with the life of the school and their children’s learning;
- Be keen to develop and grow leadership skills through the role;
- Be an inspirational and creative teacher with the ability to motivate all children to achieve their best;
- Have high aspirations for all children rooted in the belief that every child has the potential to succeed;
- Have energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humour;
- Be committed to collaborative working, leading and motivating a team;
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work as part of a supportive and enthusiastic team.

Hillcrest Primary School is a three-form entry Primary School, currently rated as Good by Ofsted (January 2018), on the outskirts of Downham Market. With less than a 5-minute drive to Downham Market Train Station, you find yourselves on a direct line to either Kings Lynn or London.

- From September 2021 we have introduced an Outdoor Learning Curriculum which will take advantage of the wealth of outdoor space at our disposal, including a Forest School, to further engage the children with their learning
