What you will be doing

  • The role will be supporting the External Communications and Marketing Manager with delivery of the integrated communications campaigns that support the drive to secure new business in the region. You will work alongside a global strategic marketing function to identify key media opportunities for the UK and International markets and present them in a compelling manner so as to influence key decision making both internally and externally as appropriate.
  • The role will also be responsible for providing communications expertise across the business unit and maintaining effective working relationships and ensuring consistency with Corporate Communications. You will be planning and executing short, medium, and long-term communications and media relations plans/strategies, aligned and in partnership with the corporate communications function. You will also build relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, customers, industrial partners and media to promote and increase understanding of the business, its capabilities and priorities
  • This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled communication professional to join a collaborative and innovative team that will help to set the narrative and tone for the business.

Who we're looking for:

  • Excellent at building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships both externally with business stakeholders, media contacts and international partner companies, and internally across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong writing skills, with broad experience of drafting press materials, social media content, web content, event scripts and speeches, stakeholder briefings and reactive lines to take and experience creating and executing short, medium, and long-term communications and media relations plans
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally where required, to support business needs
  • Media relations experience essential. Bachelor's degree in a journalism, media and/ or communications subject and significant experience in a relevant field.
