Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver communications strategies for global external audiences –with a particular focus on media relations and social media (in conjunction with the Digital Comms Exec)
- Management of external PR agency relationship
- Daily media monitoring and handling incoming press enquiries from international, national and trade press (in conjunction with external agency)
- Monitor emerging issues, identify risk areas and prepare responses as needed.
- Manage variety of internal spokespeople to support proactive media agenda
- Ad hoc speech writing
- Build on and maintain media network of key journalists and publications – including regular meetings and ad hoc engagement.
- Liaise with other teams within Miller on matters relevant to the media
- Develop submissions for industry awards/accolades
- Support the Head of Communications with the CEO/executive traditional and social media agenda.
- Delivery of Miller’s annual report & accounts
- Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of Miller, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal and financial crime related legislation and regulations which apply to Miller.
- Comply with any external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
- Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in the market
Knowledge and Experience
- External communications experience gained either in house or agency/consultancy side
- Strong writing skills
- Media relations experience – established relationships with the insurance sector preferred.
