Job description
An opportunity has arisen to appoint a permanent, Level 4 Executive Officer at 0.8 to 1 FTE, to support the delivery of strategic and operational services in the Faculty of Medicine based at the University Hospital Southampton (UHS). The role will include provision of high-level support to the Head of School for Clinical and Experimental Sciences including senior academic and clinical colleagues, as well as oversight of a number of key processes. This position is part of the Faculty Operating Service and reports to the Senior Executive Officer and Associate Director of Faculty Operations.
The role requires a self-motivated, organised and proactive individual to provide both operational and strategic direction and manage comprehensive administrative activity.
The successful candidate will have:
- A proven track record of providing high-level strategic support to senior managers, and providing management of operational, planning, and business-critical projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; personal agility, great time management skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working collaboratively, coordinating resources and logistical requirements, and working within a team to provide an excellent service to all stakeholders.
- The ability to review and refine administrative processes, delivering innovative solutions to problems where appropriate.
- Relevant experience of Higher Education structures and the NHS would be desirable.
