Are you interested in joining a Directorate that drives excellence within the operational frameworks of Supervision, Policy and Competition (SPC), the FCA’s largest front-line operational division?
Controls, Capabilities and Frameworks Directorate (CCF) act as the single point of contact for central FCA functions. By doing this, we enable our 2 Executive Directors, 13 Directors and more than 1300 colleagues work consistently and efficiently to deliver the FCA’s strategic outcomes and regulatory obligations. If we get it right, every one of our colleagues should directly benefit from our efforts – that’s a challenge and a responsibility we take seriously.
The role of Executive Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the CCF Director and the Heads of our two Departments:
- Operations, Reporting and Capabilities who act as custodians of our operational frameworks, and the assurance and risk management required to ensure these are working effectively

What you will be doing
- Managing the flow of information between Director and directorate, SPC and FCA stakeholders at all levels
- Ensuring the Director is briefed on issues and ahead of meetings as required
- Working closely with and providing support and advice to the Director on a range of policy, supervisory, operational, strategic and management issues

- Horizon scanning for key issues that might need escalating to Director
- Deputising for the Director at meetings as required/requested
- Ensuring the Director’s office runs efficiently
- Triaging Director’s inbox and diary to reflect emerging, reactive and strategic priorities
- Coordinating and facilitating effective senior management of the Directorate through cascades, management meetings and awaydays
- Attending meetings with senior stakeholders, and occasionally taking minutes and recording actions as appropriate
- Providing support and direction to the Director’s PA and delegating administrative and operational tasks appropriately across the Directorate’s professional support community
What you will get from the role
You’ll gain insights into how a world class regulator uses operational discipline, innovation and great change management to drive operational excellence and efficiency in partnership with others.
