The role
The Faculty of Engineering will move to a 4 school model from the current 2 school model following a Faculty organisational review launching in August 2023. As a result, the Faculty are recruiting to a number of Executive Assistant roles across the new schools. The new schools are:
School of Computer Science (COMS)
School of Engineering Mathematics and Technology (SEMT)
School of Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering (EEME)
School of Civil, Aerospace, and Design Engineering (CADE)

The Executive Assistant works closely with the Executive Support Manager or Faculty Office Manager to provide high-level executive and administrative support to senior individuals in the academic and professional services teams. Facilitating office support, events and enabling efficiency in our practices.
What will you be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the new schools within the Engineering faculty.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Executive Support Manager or Faculty Office Manager to ensure key activities are managed and delivered on time and will provide high-quality administrative and executive support to senior academics in one of the new 4 Schools, or the Faculty.
You will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating a central administration workload; supporting committee meetings, recruitment processes, communications and events. You will play a vital role in facilitating the Faculty or school’s wider administration requirements, across multiple sites.
You should apply if
You have a proven track record in administration and possess excellent customer service and communication skills. You will be able to form effective relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels and must be highly organised, with a flexible, proactive, and supportive approach to work, with a friendly and positive disposition.
To thrive in this role, you will need to be a great team player, have a can-do attitude and you will have excellent attention to detail to maintain progress across multiple workstreams.
