Job description
Next year we celebrate our 200 year anniversary. 200 years of changing industries, laws, hearts, minds, and animals' lives for the better.
Now is an exciting time to join the RSPCA as we continue to implement our ambitious new strategy. You can play a key role in this by joining our Strategy and Transformation directorate as Executive Assistant (EA) to the Director of Strategy and Transformation.
Here's some of the key work that you will be doing...
Our Director of Strategy and Transformation has an essential role, working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organisation and beyond. They are responsible for leading our transformation programme, business planning, performance, internal governance and the portfolio management office. This brings a significant and wide ranging workload and they require an experienced Executive Assistant who can confidently and competently support them in their work.
While effective management of a busy diary is essential, this role goes much further than that.
The postholder will need to be proactive and ensure that they are always one step ahead; going out of their way to gather relevant information from across and outside of the Society, preparing relevant papers and briefings for the Director, to ensure their time is prioritised and they are fully informed and prepared for all meetings.
The EA will be the first point of contact for colleagues, trustees, and internal and external stakeholders, so they must be approachable, a strong communicator and have the confidence to work across all levels across and outside of the RSPCA.
What we are looking for in you...
This role is demanding but rewarding so it is essential that applicants can demonstrate the skills and experience required to succeed, including:
- Exceptional organisational and diary management skills.
- High levels of flexibility and adaptability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proven ability to deal with sensitive issues discreetly, along with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- The ability to multitask and prioritise an ever changing workload.
- The ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines, with good attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- The ability to communicate with and present to senior management and executive teams.
- The ability to build relationships at all levels across the business and with external contacts.
- Strong IT skills and be competent in the use of Google packages.
- Highly organised, with the ability to use own initiative and to work with minimum supervision.
If you have a positive can-do approach and thrive in a fast paced, people orientated environment then we'd love to hear from you!
The role will be hybrid, working from home and from our London office, as and when required.
Please include a CV and a Covering Letter as part of the application process.
