The Executive Assistant supports the delivery of a functional leadership team member’s critical tasks, directing activities that enable executive level effectiveness and efficiency.

The role supports two General Counsel – and their teams – in BT Legal. It involves direct support for the two general counsel, but also getting involved in projects allocated to the role for each of the GC’s teams - where independent working, project management and delivering to outcomes for the teams will be expected. We are looking for a candidate with an appetite to run projects to find address ways of working within the teams (for example around YourSay, compliance reporting, or work prioritization) and with other business teams, presenting findings in a coherent and insightful way, and leading on implementing changes identified and agreed by the teams on such projects. This will involve using some of the tech platforms that are available in BT, and an ability to present analysis and findings developed by project teams in an attractive and accessible manner (e.g., using the full suite of Powerpoint skills).

What you’ll be doing
  • Manages as process owner on some team projects / processes and develops timelines, create schedules, and oversees progress to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Supports as a key point of contact for processes within the BT Group and provides regular reports and communication to ensure team and program alignment of deliverable expectations.
  • Coordinates content and activities, leveraging stakeholder relationships, using detailed analysis, experience and expertise.
  • Develops and maintains a series of internal and external relationships to improve and maximise efficiencies and impact across the business.
  • Delivers as a subject matter specialist on administrative systems, activities, and processes.
  • Ensures the effective delivery of administrative duties including but not limited to meeting coordination, travel, and expenses.
  • Maintains and contributes to project filing and documentation
  • Monitors and tracks budget and monitors planning for assigned projects / processes.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and prioritise critical tasks to enable Executives to deliver efficiently.
  • Able to draw on experience to establish trust and credibility at pace amongst key stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with business leaders on the delivery and co-ordination of core business processes and practices across the full employee lifecycle
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness to understand impact of that to their deliverables
  • Takes accountability for owning and delivering outcomes. Self-starter, able to work autonomously with ability to cut through complexity with confidence to deliver against project / operational need.
  • Operates with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to balance conflicting requests & priorities and manage your time and the expectations of your stakeholders
  • Uses strong analytical skills and intuition to support decision making and develop great solutions
