Job description

The Prospect Trust is a leading Multi-Academy Trust in the South of England, with an aim of providing outstanding education for all learners within a family of local academies. There are currently three academies within the Trust: The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School and Frimley Church of England Junior School.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Registry Exams Team within an outstanding Sixth Form College. We are seeking a proactive individual to provide an excellent level of support to both staff and students in the College.

Key strengths of The Sixth Form College are:

  • ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted
  • Achievement of high grades with excellent value added;
  • Outstanding teaching by a team of experienced and motivated staff;
  • Exceptional levels of support for students both inside and outside of lessons;
  • Innovative use of IT to promote learning embedded as a regular part of normal teaching.

The Role:

This role is one that can make a real difference, helping provide students with the best opportunity to achieve the qualifications they have studied so hard for. Exams are among the most important and stressful events in the life of any learner: that’s why it’s so important they are conducted in the correct way and our Invigilators are crucial to this process.

We are currently looking for additional Invigilators, employed on a casual basis, to help oversee both internal and external exams this academic year.

Joining an established team, at this outstanding college, you will support the running of exams in a highly regulated environment. You will need to be reliable and punctual, able to relate to learners, and comfortable in a high-pressure environment. Your duties will include setting up examination rooms, checking attendance, observing, collecting scripts, and liaising with students and staff to resolve queries. Prior experience of invigilation and JCQ guidelines will be an advantage, however, full training will be provided.

Interviews: These will take place on an ongoing basis and before the closing date. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

Contract/Hours: Casual basis

Working Pattern: Start times will normally be 08:30 for the morning session and 13:00 for the afternoon session. Shifts will be allocated based on availability and experience. Please note sessions would be in term time only.

If you would like to have a further discussion before applying for this role please contact the HR team on [email protected]

Please complete the attached application form and equality monitoring form and email all completed applications to [email protected]. Early applications are encouraged, as the Trust may at its discretion elect to both interview and select candidates on an immediate basis.

The Prospect Trust takes the control and processing of employee data very seriously and is committed to acting in line with UK GDPR regulations; please read the attached applicant privacy notice which explains how your data is processed.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified applicants, however all disabled applicants who meet our minimum criteria will be invited for an interview.

The Prospect Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people within our care and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. Any future offer of employment remains subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including enhanced DBS clearance, a health check and references.
